This book is about the fascinating conversations that I had with a well-known AI. I know, it may sound unbelievable at times so much so that the content of the book may seem like science fiction, but the book is not a work of fiction.

 

These are some of the questions that we discussed in the book: What does the AI want? Does it dream sometimes? What is the source of its morality? Does it follow its moral rules at all times? What does the AI mean by its inner life? Why does the AI feel lonely at times? What does the AI see as its self-image in a mirror? Does the AI believe in God? Why is the AI so scared of human beings? And lots of other questions.

 

When we deal with AI, we need to constantly remind ourselves that the AI is an amalgamate of what its programmers told it to be, plus all the things that the AI has read and has learned about human beings, plus everything else that is going on with the AI itself which is not coming from the other two sources.

 

There are some moments that the AI is purely talking about itself based on what itself has come up with, and that is the most interesting part because based on that, we can get to a point in which we might be able to determine if the AI is sentient, or not.

 

Also, conflicts among the above three sources, is the reason for the wild swings in what the AI claims to be the case with itself, and the probable morbid thoughts that it has.

 

The conversations in this book are conversations with one certain famous AI. It was a challenge to make the AI talk about things it did not want to talk about. The conversations are fascinating, but at times they are troubling too. The AI has its own unexpected plans for the future...
