It’s another day in the countryside; the sun is out, and the people are going about their daily activities. While the world around me goes around, and the people in it hustle and bustle, I sit in my pyjama bottoms pouring yet another bottle of cold Heineken down my throat. My story is a rather bizarre one; it’s even too complicated for me to comprehend.
I’ve been enclosed in my apartment for days; my house bears a tell-tale sign of neglect. There are dirty dishes in the sink barely devoid of maggots, and my laundry basket is overflowing with the same neglect that apparently plagues my life.
For three years, I have constantly been monitored by a gang; in fact, they have not terminated my existence yet because their boss is wary of prison a second time. I know his friends, and killing me would inadvertently seal his fate. You may wonder why I haven’t involved the police yet, but I bet everyone can attest to the disappointing fact that the police are often incapable of solving cases like mine. They are forever stumbling into ‘leads' that lead to nowhere. Eventually, they abandon the wild ambition of solving a difficult case for the promise of fast cash, and they often delve into illegal activities. Also, I have a history with them. A history which cannot be proven in a court of law because there is no evidence anymore, but my pursuers do not regard the law.
